Tim Claridge
I have lived in the Luton/Dunstable area for the past 25 years and am married with two stepsons. I recently retired, having worked in the energy industry for over 30 years - initially as an accountant before moving into oil and gas trading where I ran a global audit team which worked in countries such as China, Australia, Singapore, Europe, North America and South Africa. I believe passionately in the power of education to improve individuals' lives and to benefit society as a whole and was delighted to join the Ferrars Junior School governing board in 2020. Away from my governing role, I am a keen golfer and guitarist.

Taihera Hameed
I have 1 child currently attending Ferrars Junior school, and 2 older children who completed their junior years here. Their experience and journey encouraged me to join the governing body in January 2022, with a focus to contribute my knowledge and experience as a mother of 4 children.
I have previously attained a degree in Business Studies, and I am currently studying towards a masters in Psychology, with future aspirations to work in this field. I have a customer service background with experience in IT and technical support, however presently my time has been spent on raising my children and studying.
Although this is my first experience as a governor, I believe Ferrars has a responsibility to ensure children have access to good education and social activities to help them reach their full potential. My goal as governor is to ensure that each child has the same opportunities and prospects, and for Ferrars Junior school to continue to drive its values and ethos of a caring community. The teachers and members of staff have shown great commitment and dedication by nurturing a view where every child matters and is valued, and it is a great privilege to be able support them in achieving these goals.

I am a parent Governor at Ferrars Juniors and also at Ferrars Academy. I am passionate about children having high quality education to achieve the best possible outcomes for their ability. I have been working in Biomedical Scientist for the past 15 years. I believe that I have the appropriate skill set and experience in governance that will help the school on its way to provide the best learning environment for children to grow and develop, as they are our future.

I have recently joined the team at Ferrars Junior School. Throughout my career I have developed many skills which I believe will enable me to confidently represent the views of parents, support the school in achieving its ambitions and play a role in ensuring every child reaches their full potential. I am looking forward to contributing to the successful running of the school with the interests of the pupils being my priority.
The Governors Vision
The Governing Body is justly proud of the progress and achievements of the school. Whilst we believe that the school has achieved excellence in some areas, and displays very good quality in a significant number of others, we are not complacent and recognise the need for monitoring and evaluating the work of the school and developing some areas. Our vision is one of retaining and maintaining the good features whilst striving to further improve the content and quality of the education we are able to offer to the children.
We seek to become a school of excellence which:
- values each child and recognises their right to an education which is rich, challenging, enjoyable and appropriate.
- strives to develop the moral understanding that pupils acquire and encourages an appreciation of individual and corporate need.
- recognises and utilises the new technology and harnesses its opportunities for the benefit of the child and society.
- responds to the needs and aspirations of all the pupils, their families and staff. Which works with and involves more closely the community of and around Ferrars.
Parent Governor Vacancies - No Current Vacancies
Dear Parent/Carer
Governors play a key role in the school working as a team to provide support and challenge whilst at the same time influencing strategies. We are hoping that parents will nominate themselves or others and help us by contributing ideas and influencing decision making.
The Governing Body is made up of parents, teachers and other members of the community. Every term the Governing Body meets to support the work of the school, and together with the headteacher is responsible for making sure that the school provides a good standard of education for pupils not just academically but also spiritually, emotionally and morally.
