Attendance

"Every day counts..."

Regular school attendance and punctuality are key elements to children succeeding at school.

The School Day

Year 3 - Morning session 8:50am - 12:00pmAfternoon session 1:00pm - 3:15pm
Year 4 - Morning session 8:50am - 12:15pmAfternoon session 1:00pm - 3:15pm
Year 5 & 6 - Morning session 8:50am - 12:45pmAfternoon session 1:30pm - 3:15pm

Start of the school day

  • Gates will be opened at 8:45 a.m. by a member of staff who will remain there to supervise the children entering school.  We ask that parents do not enter school at this time.
  • Children will make their way to the playground where they will be greeted by a member of staff.
  • Gates (apart from the main gate) will be locked at 8:50 a.m. and any children who arrive after this time should enter the school through the main gate and report to the school office.

Entering the school at the start of the day:

Year 3     Leagrave High Street

Year 4     Small Lewsey Road gate

Year 5     Main Lewsey Road gate

Year 6     Steps from Ferrars Academy

End of school day:

The gates will be opened at 3:10pm.

Only the Main Lewsey Road gate and the Leagrave High Street gate will be opened.

Parents can enter and leave the school by either gate or if you have a child in Ferrars Academy, you can walk up onto the junior playground via the steps and path.  You will not be able to return this way as Ferrars Academy will be locking their exits.

An adult will lead each class onto the playground to a designated area identified by a year group sign on a tall pole.

Year 3 and 4 children will be released to a responsible adult or older sibling.

The same will happen for Year 5 and Year 6 children unless the child has permission to walk home.

Pushchair and Wheelchair Access at the end of the school day

The small gate on Lewsey road will be opened at 3:00 p.m. each day to allow for pushchair and wheelchair access to the school playground. The gates will be closed at 3:10 p.m. and then reopened again at 3:20 p.m.

It is parents’ responsibility to ensure their children are in school on time. When children are late for school, they tend to be rushed and start the day in a stressful manner; this is not conducive for quality learning during the day.
