Uniform and Equipment

At Ferrars Junior School there is a uniform which all pupils are expected to wear. Our uniform is not only smart and practical, but it also gives the children a sense of belonging, and of being important members of the school community. We encourage parents and children to ensure that the uniform is worn smartly and with pride. For reasons of Health and Safety, children are required to change into P.E. kit for P.E. and Games lessons.Boys and girls with pierced ears may wear one / one pair of inconspicuous studs.

School Ties and Hoodies are available from the office.

The standard school uniform is as below:

Boys

Girls

White or Grey Shirt (suitable for a tie)

School Tie (yellow/black/green)

Bottle Green Pullover or Sweatshirt

Bottle Green Pullover, Cardigan or Sweatshirt

Grey Trousers (long or short)

Grey Skirt/Pinafore; Long Grey Trousers; Green or Yellow Gingham Dress (Summer Term)

Sensible Black Shoes

TRAINERS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE

P.E. & Games

For indoor lessons children change out of their uniform into P.E. kit. This is comprised of green shorts, a white short sleeved shirt and plimsolls (although the children may have bare feet).

Hoodies are available from the school office in sizes 9-10 & 11-13 and are £13 each.

For outdoor lessons the children change into the above with trainers, but may also wear a tracksuit or fleecy lined top (which is advisable during cold weather). Some of the children may wear football boots for specific activities.

Jewellery, with the exception of watches and stud earrings, should not be worn to school. However, if watches and stud earrings are worn they must be removed for PE lessons (this includes swimming lessons). The school accepts that some items of jewellery are worn for religious reasons, but for health and safety reasons these should also be removed for PE.
